“Hi there, how do you like the conference?” She asked and smiled in her characteristically sweet, heartwarming, manner. I whined about working on a manuscript for the past three years...and she told me “Stella, don’t worry! It took me more years than that before Boy Soup got published!”
Right then I knew she understood everything, like a fairy godmother. And I am still encouraged by her today. Who wouldn’t be? She is gracious and encouraging, and really loves what she does.

This is quoted from the website of CM Magazine:http://www.umanitoba.ca/cm/profiles/lesynski.html
"I completed Boy Soup after about a hundred and seven rewrites...
"I found book illustration to be quite complex - deciding what to draw is critical, as important as the artwork itself. You have a certain amount of text on any given page: what part of it are you going to illustrate - the beginning? The middle? The end? Maybe something that happened OFF the page? If you're asking children to look at a spread for even 30 seconds, what will you offer them in the illustration? How will their eyes move? How long before they lose interest in the picture? A book is an experience, and some of the not-so-good books out there are only a one-time experience at best. You read it, enjoy it, fine - it's over. Kids deserve better."

Really, it is a delightful place with photos of her family, writing and drawing tips, pages to color, and activities too!
Thank you Ms.Loris Lesynski, for the privilege of featuring you on my little blog.
